La Ruta Europea E01 forma parte de la Red de Carreteras Europeas, concretamente de las carreteras de recorrido Norte-Sur. Esta carretera comienza en Larne y termina en Sevilla . Entre Rosslare Harbour y Ferrol , está el océano Atlántico, por lo que no hay ninguna carretera. Tampoco hay ningún transbordador que comunique ambas ciudades.
