Tulfes est une commune du district d'Innsbruck-Land dans l'État du Tyrol avec 1689 habitants. La commune se situe dans le district judiciaire de Hall en Tyrol. Tulfes se trouve sur une terrasse de moyenne montagne à 6 km de Hall et à 12 km d'Innsbruck, au pied du Glungezer d'une hauteur de 2677 m. Le territoire de la commune s'étend du fond de la vallée de l'Inn à la moyenne montagne jusqu'à la vallée arrière de Voldertal, mais ne comprend que le côté gauche de la vallée, le côté droit appartenant à Volders.
