La station de Stadtbahn de Karlsplatz est une station de l'ancien "Wiener Stadtbahn", un système de transport public de la ville de Vienne qui a fonctionné entre 1898 et 1989. Les constructions de l'ancienne station sont un exemple connu de l'architecture Jugendstil, le nom sous lequel on connaît le modernisme autrichien. Les bâtiments font partie du mouvement de la Sécession de Vienne, un mouvement lié au modernisme, dont les bâtiments de la station suivent les canons artistiques.
