La forteresse de Kufstein est le symbole de la ville de Kufstein et fait partie des monuments médiévaux les plus impressionnants du Tyrol. Aujourd'hui, c'est un musée et un lieu d'événements. Le bâtiment est protégé en tant que bien culturel conformément à la Convention de La Haye. Il se situe sur la montagne de la forteresse, un rocher de 90 m de haut directement au bord de l'Inn, au-dessus de la ville de Kufstein, et est accessible à pied ou par le train panoramique Kaiser Maximilian.
