L'une des églises les plus modernes de Belgique, une cathédrale de la lumière (1958-1965), construite selon les plans de l'architecte Jozef Lantsoght (°1912-1988) de Bruges, hauteur 40 m (sommet de la croix). Couronnement du toit par le ferronnier d'art Antoon Viaene. Autel principal et figure du Christ par M. Witdouck, 752 m2 de vitraux en style abstrait conçus par J. Lefèvre et Fr. Kinnen du Luxembourg. Verre de béton des portes d'entrée (210 m2) œuvre de Gabriël Loire de Chartres. Baptistère en céramique par R. Vandeweghe. Sœur Brigitte Loire de Chartres a sculpté la statue de Notre-Dame. En 1999, l'éclairage intérieur et extérieur a été entièrement modernisé, ainsi que les installations sonores. L'église possède 1285 chaises.
