Sur le quai, vous trouverez non seulement quelques photos de Merckx, mais aussi le vélo avec lequel il a battu le record du monde en 1972 au Mexique. La vedette du cyclisme a grandi à Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, au sud-est de Bruxelles.
En 2019, le départ du Tour de France eut lieu au niveau de la Grand-Place de Bruxelles. Un hommage à Merckx, qui remporta sa première victoire du tour il y a exactement 50 ans.
