Gilly [ʒili] est une section de la ville belge de Charleroi. Elle constituait l'une des quatorze communes qui ont fusionné en 1977 avec Charleroi.Le nom est mentionné pour la première fois dans le polyptyque de l'Abbaye de Lobbes en 866. Le village conserva la seigneurie jusqu'à la fin de l'Ancien Régime. Gilly faisait partie du Comté de Namur fut contestée sans succès par le prince-évêque de Liège aux XIVe et XVe siècles.
