La Grande Nete est un affluent de la Nete et fait partie du bassin versant de l'Escaut. Elle mesure 44 km de long. La Grande Nete prend sa source au nord-est de Hechtel. Un peu plus loin en aval, à Lierre, elle se joint à la Petite Nete et forme la Nete ou la Nete inférieure.
