En avril 2013, un coffre-fort a atterri ici sur la voie publique dans la Ruddervoordsestraat. Le coffre-fort avait été volé dans une maison à Torhout. La police était cependant sur la trace des cambrioleurs et avait lancé la poursuite. Dans la panique, ou pour semer les agents, les voleurs ont jeté le coffre-fort de leur voiture. Et l'argent s'est mis à tourbillonner ici. Les habitants du quartier et les passants se sont précipités sur les billets de banque. Les propriétaires, un couple âgé ayant totalement perdu confiance dans les banques, ont récupéré 11 000 euros, une fraction de l'argent qui se trouvait dans le coffre-fort.
