Le résistant Youra Livschitz a été abattu ici sur le Champ de tir national le 17 février 1944. Il n’avait à peine que 26 ans. Il était l’un des trois jeunes résistants qui, le 19 avril 1943, ont fait arrêter le train du vingtième convoi. Ce convoi transportait à ce moment-là 1.631 juifs du camp de Dossin à Malines vers Auschwitz et a été arrêté près de Boortmeerbeek. Au total, 231 Juifs ont pu s'échapper. Parmi eux, quatre-vingt-dix déportés ont été repris et mis sur un prochain transport, 26 personnes ont été tuées lors de leur fuite et 115 déportés ont réussi à s'échapper.
