Dans l'Atlas des Chemins de Village avec l'état des chemins vers 1840, le petit sentier est désigné comme Sentier n°30. Ce vieux chemin piéton, qui autrefois reliait très probablement Zandvliet au Monnikenhof, puis continuait vers Stabroek, a reçu son nom actuel en 1980. Ce nom est en rapport avec sa situation entre les champs et les terres agricoles entourant le moulin extérieur (ou le Moulin de l'Est). Ce chemin est encore appelé localement 'les Meulakkers'. Auparavant : Chemin Piéton de Stabroek, Rue du Village de Zandvliet C.
