Si vous traversez cette grande place en semaine, vous y croiserez certainement des Anversois revenant de leur shopping sur le Meir, des skateurs s’exerçant sous l’immense auvent. Vous tomberez même peut-être sur une poule égarée depuis le dernier marché aux oiseaux, qui a d’ailleurs donné son surnom à la place. Ce marché du samedi propose une large gamme de produits, mais les animaux à poils et à plumes y ont la vedette. Celui du dimanche attire plutôt les chalands pour ses stands d’aliments des quatre coins du monde.
En fait, la grande place est animée d’un bout à l’autre de la semaine grâce à ses nombreux cafés et restaurants avec terrasses.
