À l'origine, ce château était une ferme fortifiée, dépendant de la seigneurie de Male. Un nouveau château dans le style néo-gothique a été construit entre 1913 et 1929 à courte distance de la ferme encore existante. En 1956, le Centre de formation européenne et internationale a été créé. Dans un avenir proche, un restaurant/salon de thé ouvrira dans le château. Vous pouvez également venir visiter gratuitement le domaine du château avec son jardin et son parcours éducatif. Le domaine, situé dans un endroit très paisible, est entouré de belles allées et de vastes forêts où vous pouvez faire du vélo ou vous promener en toute tranquillité.
