Papierfabriek de Meurs est situé à Neerdorp, un petit hameau en dessous de Huizingen sur le cours inférieur du Molenbeek. Cette usine est née d’un moulin à eau à papier qui, à son tour, provenait d’un moulin à eau à grains. En même temps, il s’agit du dernier exemple conservé d’une papeterie industrielle dans la région sud de Bruxelles, traditionnellement caractérisée par l’importante production de papier lié à l’eau. Pendant au moins 450 ans, le papier a été produit en continu ici. Les bâtiments de l’usine qui existent encore aujourd’hui datent de la période 1892-1907.
