Ce vaste ensemble, dont le Bois de Chaumont constitue l'élément central, est situé à l'ouest de Namur, à l'intersection des routes nationales N90 et N922. S'étendant sur une trentaine d'hectares, il a été acquis récemment par la commune de Floreffe et comprend des parties forestières, une ancienne carrière boisée, des prairies de fauche peu amendées, des friches sur remblais calcaires, etc.
