Le tilleul fantôme est un arbre séculaire à quatre troncs qui, selon la légende, a été planté à l'époque de l'Empereur Charles (1500 - 1555) en tant qu'arbre de mai. Il a une forme étrange, se tenant droit au milieu de la plaine. Il a été frappé plusieurs fois par la foudre et est resté debout malgré tout. Son troncs est creux, brûlé, marqué par d'innombrables contusions. Il ne reste que peu de choses de l'arbre lui-même, à l'exception d'une écorce qui a oublié de grandir et d'où jaillissent des branches faibles remplies de feuilles.
