Zwijnaarde a encore une véritable place de village avec un kiosque et entourée de maisons. La place est ornée d'une image d'un 'Zwijntje'. À l'époque, c'était un village agricole et le moulin est l'une des reliques de cette époque. L'église est dédiée à Saint-Nicolas. Il est remarquable qu'une statue de Jésus sans jambes ait été intentionnellement accrochée.
