Ce banc est situé rue de Longchamps, où un chemin mène au sentier de randonnée 'les Mélines' . Cet itinéraire pédestre fait partie du Pré-Ravel , plus précisément l'itinéraire de Hotton à Soy, ligne 620 (Hotton-Erezée). D'ailleurs, il y a encore un vieux tramway à l'entrée de Hotton.

Les différences entre les deux appellations RAVel et préRavel sont principalement d'ordre administratif. Un pré-RAVeL est généralement une initiative municipale, tandis que le RAVeL est administré par la région. Les critères de développement sont également légèrement différents.
