L'impressionnante sculpture The Navigator Monument de Simon Dybbroe Møller est basée sur le logo de Netscape Navigator. L'ancien moteur de recherche a perdu sa position de leader sur Internet face à Microsoft Explorer à la fin des années 1990. Il a coulé le logo numérique du gouvernail en bronze. Maintenant qu'il retourne dans son contexte maritime, l'environnement salin accélérera le processus de patine et fera en sorte que le gouvernail devienne finalement vert, tout comme le logo original de Netscape.
La station balnéaire de Westende a été conçue par la famille de Paul Otlet, un visionnaire d'Internet du début du siècle dernier. Il est donc tout à fait approprié que Westende abrite aujourd'hui ce monument pour une ancienne application Internet.
