Ce banc est situé dans le parc du domaine du château de Vilain XIIII.
Le parc du château est un lieu fascinant car il mêle un parc paysager anglais du XIXe siècle à l'usage religieux ultérieur des Sœurs apostoliques.
Le parc était autrefois bien plus vaste et s'étendait jusqu'à l'emplacement actuel du quartier résidentiel. Le domaine comprenait un grand étang avec une île et un ruisseau sinueux. Ces éléments ont été comblés dans les années 1930, mais en observant attentivement le terrain du parc actuel et des jardins environnants, on peut encore distinguer l'emplacement plus bas des anciens plans d'eau.
