Sur la façade de la maison n° 9 sur la Grand-Place, qui était autrefois le Café de la Grue. Marx et Engels se sont réunis ici. Il y a également une plaque commémorative pour le syndicat des travailleurs belges à la mémoire de la fondation du parti ouvrier en 1885. Marx a passé trois ans à Bruxelles : de 1845 à 1848. Il n'a pas seulement écrit le 'Manifeste du Parti Communiste' à Bruxelles, mais a également développé un réseau européen de partisans. La légende veut nous faire croire que Marx a travaillé ici à la Grue sur son Manifeste Communiste, mais cela reste incertain. Lors de la veille du Nouvel An 1847, Marx a bien célébré le réveillon ici.
