The house No. 9 on the Grote Markt used to be Café de Zwaan (the Swan). You can still see the plaque indicating that Marx and Engels wrote their Communist manifesto here. There is also a memorial stone for the Belgian Workers 'Association commemorating the foundation of the Workers' Party in 1885. Marx stayed in Brussels for three years: from 1845 to 1848. He wrote 'The Communist Manifesto' here, but also built a European network of supporters during his stay in Brussels.
