Mühlberg est une ville allemande, située dans l'arrondissement d'Elbe-Elster, au sud-ouest du Land de Brandebourg. Elle se trouve à mi-distance de Riesa au Sud et de Torgau au Nord, au bord de l’Elbe à environ 80 kilomètres de Leipzig.
La première mention de la ville remonte à 1230 lorsqu’elle est fondée dans une vallée avec son château qui se dresse sur une île de l’Elbe.
