Le district gouvernemental de Lüneburg a été un district gouvernemental des pays de Prusse et de Basse-Saxe de 1885 à 2004.
L'histoire du district gouvernemental de Lüneburg remonte à l'année 1885, lorsque l'ancien royaume de Hanovre, devenu prussien en 1866, a été divisé en districts gouvernementaux en tant que province prussienne de Hanovre. Le modèle était constitué des districts gouvernementaux déjà établis dans d'autres provinces prussiennes en 1815/16. Le district gouvernemental de Lüneburg a été formé à partir de la landdrostei de Lüneburg, qui existait depuis 1823.
