Le château de Bernburg, également appelé couronne d'Anhalt, s'élève comme un château de la Renaissance sur un haut rocher de grès sur la rive est de la Saale, à l'emplacement d'un ancien gué, surplombant la ville de Bernburg dans le Sachsen-Anhalt. Le complexe du château remonte à un château médiéval perché. Le château est géré par la Fondation culturelle de Sachsen-Anhalt en tant que propriétaire.
La Bernburg a probablement été mentionnée pour la première fois le 29 juin 961 en tant que fortification circulaire et de fuite saxonne avec remparts et fossé dans un document de donation du roi Otton Ier sous le nom de « Brandanburg ». Un grand complexe de château pré-médiéval a depuis été prouvé archéologiquement sur la colline du château de Bernburg.
