Le Vorderburg est un château situé dans la ville de Schlitz dans le Vogelsbergkreis en Hesse centrale et est l’un des cinq châteaux Schlitz : En plus du Vorderburg, il s’agit, en plus du Vorderburg, du Hinterburg avec sa tour arrière et de l’Ottoburg, qui formaient tous les fortifications médiévales de la ville intégrées dans le mur de la ville, ainsi que le château de Schachtenburg et de Hallenburg situé juste à l’extérieur.
Avec l’ancien château de Niederschlitz et les ruines du Seeburg, il y a sept châteaux dans et autour de la ville de Schlitz.
