The Vorderburg is a castle in the town of Schlitz in the Vogelsbergkreis in Hesse, Germany, and is one of the five Schlitzer castles: These are, in addition to the Vorderburg, the Hinterburg with Hinterturm and the Ottoburg, all integrated into the city wall to form the medieval city fortifications, along with the Schachtenburg and the somewhat outside located Hallenburg Castle.
Together with the lost Niederschlitz Castle and the ruins of Seeburg, there are as many as seven castles in and around the town of Schlitz.
