L'écluse d'Oberhausen fait partie, côté Rhin, du deuxième des cinq niveaux du canal Rhin-Herne. Elle se situe dans le quartier Lirich d'Oberhausen au kilomètre de canal 5,68.
Le groupe d'écluses actuel permet de surmonter une différence de hauteur de 4,10 m et possède deux écluses. L'écluse sud a été construite entre 1977 et 1979 et a une longueur utile de 190 m et une largeur utile de 11,99 m. L'écluse nord a été achevée le 28 juillet 1984 après deux ans de travaux et a également une longueur utile de 190 mètres et une largeur utile de 11,88 m.
