La esclusa de Oberhausen pertenece, desde el Rin, a la segunda de las cinco etapas del canal Rin-Herne. Se encuentra en el barrio Lirich de Oberhausen, en el kilómetro 5,68 del canal.
El grupo de esclusas actual supera una diferencia de altura de 4,10 m y cuenta con dos esclusas. La esclusa sur fue construida entre 1977 y 1979 y tiene una longitud útil de 190 m y un ancho útil de 11,99 m. La esclusa norte fue completada el 28 de julio de 1984, tras un período de construcción de dos años, y también tiene una longitud útil de 190 metros y un ancho útil de 11,88 m.
