L’aérodrome de Johannisthal , situé à 15 km au sud-est du centre de Berlin entre Johannisthal et Adlershof, a été le premier aérodrome commercial d' Allemagne. Il a ouvert ses portes le 26 septembre 1909, quelques semaines après le premier aérodrome du monde à Reims en France.
L'aérodrome fut établit sur les communes de Johannisthal et Adlershof, incorporé à Berlin en 1920. Connu comme le berceau du vol plus lourd que l'air en Allemagne, Johannistal était le principal aéroport de Berlin jusqu'à ce que Tempelhof se développe dans les années 1920. C'était le premier aérodrome commercial à être créé en Allemagne, après l'aéroport de Griesheim.
