La centrale électrique de Hagenwerder était une centrale électrique située à Hagenwerder, à partir de 1994, un quartier de Görlitz à l’est de la Saxe. La centrale a été alimentée avec du lignite du bassin de Berzdorf, qui appartient à la région minière de lignite de Haute-Lusace. Pour extraire ce charbon, la mine à ciel ouvert de Berzdorf a été rouverte dans les années 1950.
Les premiers plans pour la construction d’une centrale à charbon près de Leuba ont été élaborés pendant la Première Guerre mondiale en 1915. Une décennie plus tard, Deutsche Petroleum-Aktiengesellschaft, propriétaire de la mine de lignite de Berzdorf, envisage la construction d’une centrale électrique. En 1938, un projet de centrale électrique à la mine de Berzdorf a été discuté pour la troisième fois.
