Le pont ferroviaire Geratal à Ichtershausen est une passerelle de 1121 m de long à deux voies de la nouvelle ligne Ebensfeld-Erfurt entre les kilomètres de ligne 177,754 et 178,875.
Le pont en poutres est situé à 15 kilomètres au sud d'Erfurt. Il enjambe au sud la Gera et au nord, à l'échangeur d'Erfurt, dans une coupes enroulée l'autoroute fédérale 71 et la route départementale Molsdorf-Ichtershausen, qui, à son tour, traverse l'A 71. La voie se trouve à une hauteur d'environ 19 m au-dessus du fond de la vallée.
