Le St.-Gotthard-Gymnasium der Benediktiner Niederaltaich est un lycée musical, linguistique, scientifique et technologique agréé par l’État à Niederalteich. Le parrain de cette école à temps plein est l’abbaye de Niederaltaich.
Le nom de l’école St.-Gotthard-Gymnasium remonte à Saint Gothard, abbé de Niederaltaich et évêque de Hildesheim. Le nom apparaît pour la première fois en 1723, lorsque l’abbé Joscio Hamberger a créé un « Seminarium in honorem Sancti Godehardi ». Dans le cadre des réformes des années 1960, le « Séminaire St. Godehard » a été rebaptisé « Schulheim St. Gotthard » en 1965. Finalement, en 1985, le lycée a reçu son nom actuel sous le nom de « St.-Gotthard-Gymnasium der Benediktiner Niederaltaich ».
