Ciudad Rodrigo est une commune de la province de Salamanque dans la communauté autonome de Castille-et-León en Espagne.Située à une distance de 86 km de Salamanque, la capitale provinciale, et à 25 km de la frontière avec le Portugal par l'ouest, elle a été le théâtre de nombreux affrontements au début du XIXe siècle en raison de son emplacement stratégique .
