La ligne Lérida - La Pobla de Segur relie Lérida, Balaguer, Tremp et La Pobla de Segur en tant que noyau le plus important reliant la plaine de Lérida et les Pré-Pyrénées. En 1924, la section fut ouverte jusqu'à Balaguer et en 1951, elle arriva jusqu'à La Pobla. L'infrastructure appartient à FGC depuis 2005, qui a également pris en charge en 2016 l'exploitation avec l'achat de train spécialement pour cette ligne.
