Le cimetière de Ripoll a été conçu par l'architecte Antoni Coll Fort en 1903. Il s'agissait d'une rupture avec la tradition médiévale où le champ mortuaire était auparavant situé au sein de la trame urbaine, une continuité de l'espace réservé aux vivants avec celui des morts.
