Il cimitero di Ripoll è stato progettato dall'architetto Antoni Coll Fort nel 1903. Si trattava di una rottura con la tradizione medievale, dove il campo mortuario si trovava precedentemente all'interno del tessuto urbano, una continuità dello spazio riservato ai vivi con quello dei morti.
