La tour d’Hercule est un phare romain situé sur un cap, la punta Robaleira, face à l’océan Atlantique, dominant l'entrée de la ria donnant sur le port de La Corogne, en Galice .Le port antique de Brigantium a été renommé au XIIe siècle Ad Columnam, c'est-à-dire La Colonne ou la Tour , dont dérive directement le nom actuel de La Corogne .
