La station El Chorro-Caminito del Rey est située dans le hameau d'El Chorro, dans la municipalité espagnole d'Alora, dans la province de Malaga, région autonome d'Andalousie. Elle dispose de services de moyenne distance opérés par Renfe. La gare se trouve au point kilométrique 142,9 de la ligne ferroviaire à écartement ibérique qui relie Cordoue à Malaga, à 244 mètres d'altitude, entre les stations de Bobadilla et Las Mellizas. Le tronçon, qui est à voie unique et électrifié, présente un profil particulièrement compliqué en raison de l'orographie du terrain, ce qui a nécessité la construction de jusqu'à 14 tunnels.
