Avec une façade monumentale aux lignes coupées et aux volumes, l'Iglesia de la Encarnación s'élève au-dessus du reste des bâtiments d'Olvera.
L'église est une construction néoclassique, commandée par les ducs d'Osuna à la fin du XVIIIe siècle et achevée en 1843, suite à la démolition en 1822 de l'ancienne église du même nom.
Le haut de la façade est fermé à l'horloge. C'est un élément caractéristique de l' hôtel de ville , mais il n'en possède aucun. Ainsi, une horloge fut construite sur la façade de l'église en 1902. Cet élément fut payé par la mairie.
L' autel principal est dédié au saint patron d'Olvera, San José.
