Crocq est une commune française située dans le département de la Creuse en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.L'actuel village était une place-forte occidentale du comté d'Auvergne avant d'être intégré au Dauphiné d'Auvergne au XIIe siècle. On y situe parfois l'origine des soulèvements populaires des provinces centrales et méridionales plus connus sous le nom de jacquerie des croquants.
