Biot est une commune française située dans le département des Alpes-Maritimes, au sein de la région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Ses habitants sont appelés les Biotois. La technopole de Sophia Antipolis occupe environ 1/3 du territoire de la commune.
Biot est située entre Cannes et Nice, elle est limitrophe de la ville d'Antibes. Biot compose, avec Antibes, Le Bar sur Loup, Valbonne, Vallauris et d’autres communes Sophia- Antipolis, la première technopole d’Europe avec plus de 30 milles employées dans la haute technologie.
