Elle fait partie du parc naturel régional du Perche et de la communauté de communes Cœur du Perche.La commune est située dans le Perche. Son bourg est à 9 km à l'est de Rémalard, à 11 km à l'ouest de La Loupe et à 14 km au nord-est de Nogent-le-Rotrou. Il est desservi par la gare de Bretoncelles, située sur la ligne Paris - Chartres - Nogent-le-Rotrou - Le Mans.
