Le Faou est une commune du Finistère, dans la région administrative Bretagne. Elle abrite le siège du parc naturel régional d'Armorique dont elle est membre.Le Faou est un ancien port important de la rade de Brest, au carrefour entre le Léon et Brest au nord, la Cornouaille et Quimper au sud et la presqu’île de Crozon à l'ouest. Homologuée « petite cité de caractère, » depuis 2016, elle est aujourd'hui réputée pour ses maisons à pan de bois recouvertes d'ardoises, son église Saint-Sauveur et la ville de Rumengol qui lui est rattachée.
