À mi-distance de Bourg et Blaye , Gauriac est un village rural à l'habitat dispersé en hameaux. Son économie est dominée par la viticulture, grâce à la production de Côtes-de-bourg, et par l'activité commerciale qui irrigue les communes voisines.
