La colonne Vendôme, érigée au cœur de la place Vendôme en 1810, culmine à 44 mètres de hauteur. En hommage aux valeureux soldats d'Austerlitz, elle s'inspire de la majestueuse colonne Trajane de Rome. Son fût, façonné à partir de 1200 canons capturés des armées russes et autrichiennes, est orné de bas-reliefs évoquant des trophées à la manière antique. Un symbole de grandeur et d'héroïsme qui trône fièrement dans la capitale française.
