Gap est une commune française d'un peu plus de 40 000 habitants située dans la région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Elle est le chef-lieu du département des Hautes-Alpes et la ville la plus peuplée de la moitié sud du massif alpin. La ville est située au carrefour d'un axe Nord-Sud reliant Grenoble à Sisteron et d'un axe est-ouest reliant la vallée du Rhône à Briançon.
