L'ensemble des 61 soldats (dont 3 inconnus) reposant dans le cimetière britannique de Joncourt sont décédés lors des combats ayant permis de libérer la commune du 30 septembre au 4 octobre 1918.
55 de ces soldats appartenaient au 10ème bataillon du régiment de Highlanders d'Argyll et de Sutherland. Ces bataillons faisant partie de la division écossaise de l'armée britannique.
