Au XIème siècle, il existait déjà une église dont le chevet et le transept avaient l'ampleur de ceux de l'église actuelle. Le premier remaniement date du XIIème siècle, par une construction en pierre de taille. L'église comporte alors une seule nef. Au XVIème siècle, elle est agrandie par la construction d'un bas-côté sud, flanqué de trois contreforts. En 1765, un nouveau clocher est édifié, accolé au portail roman. Au XIXème siècle, l'église est remaniée. L'abside, munie d'une travée droite, comporte de magnifiques chapiteaux, notamment à l'arc triomphal : à gauche, Daniel bénissant les lions et à droite, des félins crachant des rinceaux.
