Le 22 octobre 1919, Xonrupt devient commune à part entière, se séparant ainsi de Gérardmer.
Labellisée «Village Étoilé» et classée «site naturel remarquable», la commune est tournée vers une nature diversifiée entre lacs (Longemer et Retournemer) à 750 m d’altitude et sommets vosgiens à 1306 m. Également labellisée «Famille Plus», Xonrupt renforce sa vocation touristique tout en restant authentique et chaleureuse. En hiver, domaines alpin et nordique sauront vous séduire.
